Why Teach?

I believe that teaching is a direct way to impact the generations now and in the future. Some people have natural gifts in teaching and in working with children. I think some of that natural talents or at least others tell me that. Growing up everyone that was around me told me that they could see me as a teacher. For a while I tried to deny this because I felt like I was put in a box of a destiny that I didn't decide. I eventually realized that it was not a box but my own characteristics. I have always loved children and caring for them. I always even played teacher when I was a kid or as my family called it "Bossy Learning". I always was super sympathetic for teacher because in my own opinion they were never treating as kindly as they deserved. I hope to become a teacher and inspire kids to create their own destiny and opinions even if others disagree.

I personally would like to become a teacher for 3rd-5th grade or High school students. I am going to try to start with Elementary students because I personally need to get a tougher skin and High school is not a place to teach without that. I would especially like to teach in a math subject. I absolutely like math the most out of my subjects because numbers do not lie. It is all set and stone. Another reason I may be biased towards math is because my grades were always the best in math over any other subjects. A subject that I would maybe like to teach in any grade is Art. I always went to art when I was frustrated or stressed out at school. Sometimes it was more crafts then art but it seems like a fun thing to teach anywhere.

  1. Yes. Art is not only fun it can and does teach students so much. True art (not crafts) opens the mind.
