Teach Talk

This is such a small but loaded question in my opinion. When I think of great teachers I can think of many different teachers throughout my life. They were all different and taught different grades and subjects. So what made each one of them genuinely amazing? Well, Mrs. Palmer was my teaching teacher. As funny as that sounds she was my teacher that I had all four years of high school that taught me how to be a teacher. She was goofy but stern at the same time. She made sure everyone kept their life together and did their work on time. Yet that was probably the silliest and goofy class I had. Coach Johnson was a teacher but he was mainly my coach. That doesn’t mean he didn’t teach me though. He taught me that it’s okay to get mad and that I should make it constructive, not destructive. Mrs. Rebecca was my 3rd-grade teacher and she helped me with my TAX test. I had awful test anxiety and she helped me through it. When thinking about this question there is no perfect answer to it. There are definitely ways that we can try and approach talking about issues, but I do not think that there is a for sure perfect way to talk about some subjects. The best way to start a talk that is about issues is to understand that it will be uncomfortable. There will be issues and blame on certain parties and that can be uncomfortable. We just need to stay level-headed! Also going into any conversation, I think we need to treat everyone with respect and understanding. If we go into conversations with rough topics, it can seem more of a call-out than a conversation. We are not trying to accuse people simply just talk about it.  When talking about issues that matter, we need to also bring facts that back up our own topic or even argument. Not as a weapon but more for proof. We want people to be informed and learn about these issues so having information and facts that back us up can help the person learn of what w...

 When thinking back to your old teachers you usually think of an amazing teacher that meant the world to you or one that you just could not stand to be around. Either way no one really talks about the "normal" teacher that is just doing their job. Not wrong by any mean but not necessarily in the best way. When you think about  teaching the public tends to extend off their own experiences and or some kind of movie that really spoke to them. Some people think that teaching is an admirable job that is very rewarding for the teachers and their students under them. While others think that it is a stupid job that gets paid nothing to babysit teens and children. Teaching can be portrayed differently based on what culture you live in too.   In the famous U.S. Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education, we win in making school segregation illegal. So why are we still struggling with this concept today? We have learned throughout the module some intriguing and a little disturbing concepts and history facts. Red lining separated white neighborhoods from minority neighborhoods. Minorities or people on the red side were given little to zero loans, benefits, and could never get the chance to cross over to the green side or white neighborhoods. Why? To put it simple it was strictly because of their skin color. So, then the green side gets higher, more prosperous, and wealthier while the red side decays.  I as a future teacher want to promise myself and my future students that I will uphold and help fight for rights as a person, student, and learner in my classroom. I really want my students to feel that all of their rights are there for them. I don't feel that students should feel almost trapped in a cage with no rights. As a student I always heard that to students school felt like a prison and they felt trapped without rights. Even as they grow older they still had this hard mindset and it makes me feel sad. I had teachers that let me express my rights in school and that made me pretty much not hate school. I want to have my students understand that they can have the freedom to express their rights anytime they please. I most importantly want to protect my students freedom of speech and religion.  Hello there future educators and welcome current ones! l am discussing today what I willing to do and what lengths I am willing to go to help educ ate all children. I first would like to say that while teaching I would like to practice being culturally conscious and show diversity in my lesson plans and classrooms. I think this is a big factor that can get overlooked or pushed to the side because it may be difficult or uncomfortable. I would like to push my classroom out of others comfort zone will also being understanding. This would hopefully create a safe and open environment that all students can thrive in. Now I will move onto what I am willing to do. I think I would do almost anything to help my students be educated. Since an early age women have been confined to household duties and were at first never exposed to the workforce. Through time women developed their own house into a place to learn. It at first was simple things like how they cook and clean but then they soon developed into speech. Many boys started off learning more on speech and writing because traditionally they had men in the workforce and women doing cooking and cleaning at home. Fast forward many years later we have now flipped the poportions in teachers. Men at first were the predominate teachers in actual schools. Now there is less men teachers. Most men in the education industry are superadtendents, principles, or in a coaching role. In elementary schools women are the majority and there are a couple of reasons for that.
